Parenting Support

Parenting can often be a challenge. For parents needing extra support, OhioGuidestone offers education and training to improve family functioning. These services can help families learn positive parenting skills, improve communication skills, or reunite after a separation. Our parenting programs follow the evidence-based Nurturing Parenting model.

Domestic Violence Shelter

Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter offers a safe and caring environment for men, women, and children survivors. Certified staff aid in the healing process through a series of intervention methods including individual counseling, safety planning, education and work readiness, and linkage to other community resources that meet individual’s needs. Family pets are welcome at the shelter.

The Family Nurturing Center of Ohio

OhioGuidestone is part of the nationwide network that is certified to teach the evidence-based Nurturing Parenting curriculum to individuals and organizations. Nurturing Parenting was designed to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect.

Share the Care Respite

Share the Care is an out-of-home respite program that matches licensed foster parents with families in stressful situations. The foster parents provide temporary care for children to support both the parents and children in navigating challenges and building confidence.
