Nicole Labor, DO, BCFP, FASAM

Dr. Nicole Labor is a board-certified physician in both Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine with more than 16 years of experience working in the field of addiction and recovery. She currently serves as Medical Director for Addiction Services at multiple treatment facilities and holds several other clinical and leadership roles throughout Northeast Ohio. She is also a Director-at-Large for the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Labor is the author of The Addictoholic Deconstructed and The Addictoholic Reconstructing and is known online as “The Addicts Doc,” where she translates the neuroscience of addiction into language that is practical, accessible, and occasionally irreverent. Her educational work focuses on helping people understand what drugs do to the brain, why addiction changes behavior, and how that understanding can reduce stigma without removing personal responsibility.

Dr. Labor is also a person with over 2 decades of long-term recovery and brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to her work in addiction medicine, education, and advocacy.
