Mental Health Services

Mental Health Services

Everyone can experience challenges with their mental health. Stress, anxiety, grief, major life changes, trauma, relationship difficulties, behavioral concerns, and feelings of sadness and hopelessness can affect how we think, feel, and interact with those around us. While these experiences can be common, they can also become overwhelming when they begin to interfere with daily life, work, school, relationships, or overall well-being.

Mental health concerns can look different for each individual. They can influence how we think, feel, and function in daily life, often showing up in ways that are shaped by our experiences, environment, and stage of life.

For adults, mental health challenges may present as persistent anxiety, depression, mood changes, difficulty concentrating, trouble sleeping, overwhelming worry, or feelings of isolation. They may also impact relationships, work performance, decision-making, or the ability to manage everyday responsibilities.

Children and teens may struggle with emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, social difficulties, declining academic performance, or changes in mood and behavior.

Young children may show signs of developmental delays, difficulty forming bonds, aggression, anxiety, or challenges adapting to everyday routines and transitions.

No matter your age or circumstances, you don’t have to face them alone, OhioGuidestone can help.

We provide compassionate, evidence-based, mental health services designed to help individuals and families take steps toward their healthiest futures. Our staff works with children, teens, adults, and families to create individualized treatment plans to support long-term success.

Adult Mental Health Services

Adult Mental Health Services

Mental health challenges can impact many aspects of adult life, from relationships and parenting, to work performance and physical health. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), more than 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year.

If you are experiencing symptoms such as persistent sadness, anxiety, overwhelming stress, mood changes, substance use concerns, difficulty coping with daily responsibilities, or experiencing a mental health crisis, professional support can help.

OhioGuidestone’s adult mental health services provide support, treatment, resources, and tools to help you. We provide counseling, psychiatry, medication management, and specialized programs like Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Crisis Stabilization, and Perinatal Mental Health support for the times before, during, and after childbirth. We work with each person to develop an individualized treatment plan to support recovery and overall wellness.

OhioGuidestone’s youth mental health services can help children and teens develop healthy coping skills, improve emotional regulation, strengthen family relationships, and build confidence. Services are available in our offices, schools, homes, and community settings to make support as accessible as possible.

Our youth mental health programs include outpatient counseling, school-based services, home-based counseling, intensive-home based treatment, psychiatric services, residential treatment, juvenile justice programs, and specialized support groups and programs designed to support youth with a wide variety of behavioral health needs.

Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) Services

Early Childhood Mental Health Services

The earliest years of a child’s life can play a critical role in social and emotional development. Early childhood mental health (ECMH) services support children from birth through age six who may be experiencing developmental delays, behavioral concerns, difficulties with emotional regulation, anxiety, trauma, attachment challenges, or struggles with everyday transitions.

ECMH services can help parents and caregivers strengthen relationships and better understand a child’s unique needs. OhioGuidestone offers home-based treatment, early childhood intervention services, consultation, pregnancy and new parent support, and specialized services like Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) services. Our family-centered approach helps young children develop the skills they need to thrive.
