Banner Day for Mental Health in Berea  

OhioGuidestone Promise Runs breaks fundraising & attendance records.                                            

[Berea, OH-September 14, 2024] OhioGuidestone, the state’s leader in community behavioral health, raised over $100,000 at the biannual Promise Run to promote mental health support, up nearly $30,000 over the previous event.         

In addition, 442 participants ran or walked the 10k, 5K, or 1-mile course near Wallace Lake, setting a record for attendance at the Promise Run.  

The date also marked the last day of National Suicide Prevention Week, which is a tenet of OhioGuidestone’s mission of empowerment.                    

“Just by being here today, you are making life better for someone who is going through a difficult time,” said Brant Russell, OhioGuidestone President and CEO, to the crowd gathered at the awards ceremony.                                                                                                                                     

Russell thanked OhioGuidestone supporter and presenting sponsor, Blue Technologies, along with other contributors, Sherwin Williams, The Cleveland Guardians, Credit First National Association, PWC, Fleet Response, Medic Management Group, Tucker Ellis, USI, APEC Engineering, and more.  

Hope Yoga and C-Town Studio provided a pre-run warm-up before Berea-Midpark Cheerleaders along with The Pride of Westlake Demon Marching Band Drumline performed for runners along the course.                                                 

Food trucks, face painting, balloon making, and a special visit from Cleveland Browns Mascot Chomps highlighted the family fun event.  

The funds were raised to support OhioGuidestone’s mission to empower individuals across the lifespan through the most difficult times of their lives. OhioGuidestone focuses on the needs of the whole person, empowering them to take steps towards a healthier future.
