Ensuring Employment Stability and Continuity of Care in Fairfield County

OhioGuidestone welcomes staff of new New Horizons

(Berea, OH) — OhioGuidestone announced a coordinated transition alongside New Horizons, the Fairfield County ADAMH Board, and community partners to support the continued well-being of New Horizons staff, clients, and the broader Fairfield County community as New Horizons winds down operations.

As part of this shared effort, OhioGuidestone will directly hire New Horizons employees, honoring their years of service, preserving their roles, and maintaining the trusted relationships they have built within the community.

“Partnering with OhioGuidestone allows our mission to carry forward through the people and relationships that have always defined New Horizons,” said Wes Osborn, Board President of New Horizons. “For over five decades our focus has been on supporting our staff and clients, and this transition reflects that same commitment.”

The Fairfield ADAMH Board has fully endorsed the transition to OhioGuidestone, recognizing it as an important step in sustaining accessible, community-based behavioral health care services in the region.

“We are grateful to work alongside New Horizons and our community partners during this transition,” said Brant Russell, President & CEO of OhioGuidestone, “Together, we are prioritizing continuity, for both staff and clients, while building on the strong foundation already in place in Fairfield County.”

Through this transition, OhioGuidestone will welcome the New Horizons team and add new services and programming to the existing services offered by OhioGuidestone in Lancaster, Ohio – including supported employment services, new court programs, adult mobile crisis care, and, in partnership with Allwell Behavioral Health, Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) in Fairfield and Perry Counties.

OhioGuidestone Regional Vice President Amanda Wattenberg emphasized the collective impact: “This is truly a shared effort. By coming together with the New Horizons staff and our local partners, we are reinforcing the stability of services today while investing in the long-term health of our community.”

The coordinated transition is designed to ensure that clients can experience continuity in their care, with the ability to continue working with the same behavioral health providers in familiar locations without interruption.

While onboarding and coordination is happening now, the official transition of New Horizons staff and clients to OhioGuidestone will take place on April 30, 2026.
