OhioGuidestone’s Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) provide timely, compassionate, and individualized support to youth and families experiencing emotional or behavioral crises. We partner with families, community providers, and youth-serving systems to deliver culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strength-based care that promotes healing, resilience, and long-term stability.
MRSS Vision Statement:
All Ohio youth and families have immediate access to coordinated, family-driven crisis services that honor their voice, respect their lived experiences, and build on their strengths—ensuring every young person has the support needed to thrive in their home, school, and community.
MRSS is a statewide program that provides immediate help for children and young adults 20 and under, and their families, who are experiencing escalating emotional symptoms, behaviors, or traumatic circumstances that have impacted their ability to function within their family, living situation, school, or community. Youth need not have had previous behavioral health treatment and current involvement with a specific service or system is not necessary to access MRSS.
Mental, emotional, or behavioral symptoms
may include:
- Depression
- Self-Harm
- Grief and Loss
- Substance Use
- Family Conflict
- Suicidal Thoughts
- And More

With MRSS, when a crisis occurs, a team of trained behavioral health professionals responds within 60 minutes directly to the young person’s home, school, or any other location to de-escalate the crisis and provide ongoing support for up to 42 days – all at no cost to the young person or their family. Mobile response is available between the hours of 8 AM and 8 PM, Monday through Friday, including holidays, with the exception of the Stark County dispatch location that provides 24/7 mobile response coverage.
To access MRSS services, call 988 and the team will assess and immediately deploy necessary services to the young person’s current location, or the caregiver can opt to schedule a nonimmediate mobile response at a more convenient time. All MRSS services must be accessed through 988.
Previously only available in certain areas of the state, the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) and the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) have teamed up with a network of regional partners that will allow MRSS to cover the whole state for the first time.
