Shane Bieber, Kara Hit the Stables With Young Clients for Therapeutic Horseback Riding
OhioGuidestone is in the news again, and while you might expect it’s for our mental health expertise, you might be surprised to learn baseball and horses are a part of it too.
Therapy brings to mind neutral-colored offices and comfy couches, but that’s just one of many ways OhioGuidestone patients can receive care.
This week, Shane Bieber of the Cleveland Guardians and fiancé Kara Maxine Kavajecz visited Rocky River Stables with two young OhioGuidestone residential clients. Horseback riding has been an important part of Shane and Kara’s lives, and they wanted to share in the fun and wonder with the kids, showing them how to groom, prepare and ride horses themselves.
The children received lessons from Valley Riding Inc. on how to properly ride and control their mounts as they went through the basics of horseback riding. Afterward, they got to spend quality time giving treats and saying hello to the curious horses excited to meet some new faces.
