LSW Honored for His Work in Mental Health

Congratulations to Jeff Streeter, LSW (Licensed Social Worker), and OhioGuidestone Clinical Outpatient Supervisor in School Services. Jeff was named AOD (Alcohol and other Drug) Professional of the Year by the Lucas County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board.

Since 2009, Jeff has worked in multiple areas within the agency,  starting with youth outpatient and school-based services, then transitioning to work with adults. He has worked with Lucas County Family and Adult Treatment Court and helped develop the Medicated Assisted Treatment program.

Jeff is currently using his experience to train the next generation of helping professionals by working with nearby universities to expand OhioGuidestone’s internship opportunities.  Jeff is also an adjunct professor in the social work department at Lourdes University and worked with a youth diversion program.

Victoria Graham, Regional Director of Operations said, “Jeff is a known fixture in the community. Every time I tell someone I work at OhioGuidestone, they ask me if Streeter is still there.”

Victoria said a mother approached Jeff at an event to thank him for his work with her son who is now in medical school. She added, “He has a unique way of working with clients, his respect and kindness leave a lasting impression.”

Jeff has been in recovery himself for 19 years and uses his lived experience and education to connect with everyone, from clients and probation officers to the head of a University.

Victoria says, “Jeff sees Lucas County as his community and his people and it shows. He lives the mission of OhioGuidestone every day.”
