Our programs provide alcohol and drug addiction treatment in a positive, supportive environment free from drugs or alcohol. OhioGuidestone’s recovery homes focus on breaking down barriers to sustained recovery by creating a unique care plan that meets the needs of the whole person.

What is Recovery Housing?

A recovery house is a structured sober living home that gives those struggling with addiction a safe and supportive place to focus on building a life free from drugs or alcohol. River Haven Residential Treatment Facility

River Haven Residential Treatment Facility in Dover, Ohio serves women ages 18 and older who are in need of intensive treatment for Substance Use Disorder. River Haven is a Level 3.5 Care Facility and Level 3.1 Care Facility. Located across the street from the flowing Tuscarawas River, the program helps residents understand their addictions, overcome roadblocks to treatment, and emerge from the program sober.

River Haven offers:

Residents may bring their children to live at or visit the home. Those who are pregnant may return to the facility with their baby to continue treatment.

Renewal House East and Renewal House West

Renewal House East, located in Toledo, Ohio and Renewal House West, located in Napoleon, Ohio are both Level 3 Recovery Houses for Men ages 18 and older. The supportive environment in these homes creates a space for residents to take control of their recovery. A combination of staff with lived recovery experience and licensed staff creates a focus on sober supports within the home.

Renewal House East and Renewal House West offer:

  • Employment Skills Training
  • Sober Support Systems

  • Transportation Assistance
  • Warm Hand-Off To Transition Back Into Community

Residents at these houses often participate in OhioGuidestone’s Expressive Arts Therapy program alongside addiction treatment. Many of those in recovery find art therapy to be a safe and comfortable way to express emotions while relieving stress, anger, and anxiety.

Average length of stay: 6-12 months
Capacity: Renewal House East: 10 men, Renewal House West: 20 men

The Renewal Center

Located in Napoleon, Ohio, The Renewal Center is a Level 3.5 and 3.1 Care Residential Facility for Men ages 18 and older who are in need of intensive treatment for Substance Use Disorder. Experienced staff at the facility give residents the tools they need to overcome addiction and sustain recovery.

The Renewal Center offers:

Discovery Recovery

Newly built in 2021 by the Medina County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Board (ADAMH), Discovery Recovery is located in Medina, Ohio. The home is a Level 3 Recovery House operated by OhioGuidestone and is now Ohio Recovery Housing certified, which means the facility adheres to the highest standards and ethics set forth by this distinguished organization. Discovery Recovery serves women ages 18 and older in need of recovery housing. With a focus on sober support systems, residents develop a recovery action plan to encourage sustained sobriety.

Residents at the home may have visits with their children on site.

The STARLight Center

Located in Lancaster, Ohio, The STARLight Center was built in 2024 by the Fairfield County ADAMH Board and is operated by OhioGuidestone. The STARLight Center is a voluntary, clinically managed Level 3.5  residential program and provides substance use stabilization and treatment for male and female adults over the age of 18. We are dedicated to helping individuals begin their recovery journey and with The STARLight Center, recovery is possible!

The STARLight Center offers:

  • Connection to Local Community Resources
  • Methods that Promote Development of Healthy Structures and Routines
  • Coping-Skill Building Activities
  • Peer Support

Average Length of Stay: up to 30 days

Stillwater Crossing Residential Treatment Facility

Stillwater Crossing Residential Treatment Facility in Dennison, Ohio serves men ages 18 and older who are in need of treatment for Substance Use Disorder. Stillwater Crossing is a Level 3.5 Care Facility and Level 3.1 Care Facility. The program helps residents of Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties understand their addictions, overcome roadblocks to treatment, and emerge from the program sober and ready to begin a new journey in life.

Stillwater Crossing offers:
