Expanding Access to Mental Health Crisis Care in Fairfield County
Before the STARLight Center opened, many Fairfield County residents needing residential crisis stabilization had to travel outside the county to access care. Today, OhioGuidestone’s STARLight Center offers mental health crisis care close to home, reducing barriers and providing timely support during critical moments.
The STARLight Mental Health Crisis Stabilization Unit serves adults 18 and older and provides short-term stabilization, typically lasting three to five days. Services are designed to help individuals safely stabilize and begin the next steps toward recovery.
24/7 Support When It’s Needed Most
The STARLight Center is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by licensed behavioral health professionals. Individuals can receive care for a range of mental health and substance-related crises, including:
- Severe mood changes
- Confusion or disorientation
- Hallucinations
- Suicidal thoughts
- Substance-related emergencies
In addition to stabilization, STARLight connects individuals to follow-up outpatient services to support continued care after discharge.

A key focus of OhioGuidestone’s mental health crisis care model is accessibility. No insurance is required for Fairfield County residents, ensuring individuals can get help when they need it most—regardless of coverage or financial concerns.
